  • This walk offers two superb views of Lake Geneva: from the Grand Roc and arriving at the Hucel. A path to discover the hamlets of Thollon and its heritage.

  • Information on the stages of the hike:
    The Grotto of Notre Dame and its Way of the Cross, the authentic hamlets of Thollon: Lajoux, le Maravant, le Hucel, le Nouy and Chez les Aires.
    Le Hucel is also a site for observing migratory birds from March to May, as many birds (black storks, buzzards, black kites, red kites, etc.) fly over Le Hucel on their way to their breeding sites in Northern and Eastern Europe.

    To respect farming practices, natural areas and wildlife, please keep your dogs on a lead and pick up after them. Keep and sort your rubbish, stay on the paths and close the fences.
  • Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
    1/ From the tourist office, head towards Lajoux. After 200 m, turn left onto the "Au creux" path as far as the Notre-Dame de Lourdes Grotto. Cross the road and take the path of the cross opposite, until you reach the road where you must turn right to start the descent to Lajoux.
    2/ At the bottom of the descent, follow the signs for "Le Grand Roc" to the viewpoint (the domain is private). Retrace your steps and at the fork in the road, go right for 100 m and take the path on the right indicating "Les Reboux", then follow the direction "le Maravant".
    3/ After a long passage through the undergrowth, arrive at "Le Maravant". A tarmac section that you follow to the right, then at the next crossroads again to the right, leads to "Hucel". Take the path on the right at the farms.
    4/ Return by the same path, then take the tarmac road on the right to reach "Nouy". At the stop sign, take the municipal road to the left which joins the starting point by crossing the hamlet of "Chez les Aires".
