Ten authors who came to the shores of Lake Geneva for a few hours or a few years between 1754 and 1914: Voltaire, Rousseau, Germaine de Staël, François-René de Chateaubriand, Byron, Stendhal, Alexandre Dumas, Gustave Flaubert, Victor Hugo, Romain Rolland.
Exiles or refugees in Switzerland, they have taken up their pen and re-enchanted the world.
