Jean Philippe Rennard, a former school teacher, will talk about the characteristics of and reasons for choosing this profession, the problems faced by teachers at the time, the level of schooling in the département, the outbreak of war, ...

but also the reasons for the hecatomb in the profession, the involvement of teachers in solidarity work, pacifist movements in Haute-Savoie and the response of the authorities, as well as teachers' associations before and after the war.
