Bernex Dent d'Oche, a charming mountain village nestled at the foot of the Dent d'Oche, between lake and mountains, spreads out its traditional buildings and numerous chalets on the Gavot plateau, just a few kilometers from Evian les Bains. And when the Bernex ski resort dons its white coat, all snow activities are permitted, from dog sledding and snowboarding to snowshoeing and downhill or cross-country skiing.
With 19 ski runs totalling 50 kilometers, and 12 lifts (including 3 chairlifts), the Bernex ski area ranges in altitude from 1,000 to 1,900 metres.
With a predominantly north-westerly exposure, the Bernex ski slopes will delight skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. Those less comfortable on skis can start out on the practice lifts (La Mouille, La Pallud, La Lèche and Le Tétras) and on the 4 green runs, ideally laid out and marked out for beginners in excellent conditions.
Once familiar with the principles of skiing (support, position, control of speed and trajectory), intermediate skiers can take to the 4 blue runs: Combet, Le Talot, Les Plagnettes and L'Ugine / Bécret.
But Bernex is also an excellent playground for good skiers, since 2/3 of the slopes are designed for them. Experienced skiers can link curves and turns on the 7 challenging red runs, while the more experienced skiers can take to the 4 black runs, alternating between mogul walls, steep slopes and terrain movements skilfully distilled throughout. Head for the Lac de Pelluaz area for a series of descents on the Pelluaz, La Variante and Les Chalets Verts runs...
In addition to its alpine ski area, Bernex also boasts a Nordic ski area with 7.5 kilometers of trails that will delight cross-country skiers (whether skating or classic). A signposted trail also allows snowshoe enthusiasts to reach the Pré Richard sector from the snow front.
New: Bernex plus season pass, which gives you access to the Bernex ski area, plus 3 days' free use of the Espace Liberté at Châtel. In the event of closure of the Bernex ski area, holders of this pass will automatically receive a 20% discount on the Espace Liberté Châtel day pass.
