Discover Féternes Between plateaus and panoramas

An extended municipality on the Gavot plateau, Féternes boasts varied landscapes and 360° panoramic views of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. Its strategic position favoured the construction of a Savoyard castle as early as the 10th century. Vestiges such as the cup stone also suggest a very ancient human presence. The Château-vieux site in Féternes has been classified as a “remarkable heritage site”, with its authentic chapel and the Compey-Lucinge fortified house.

Do you know the Champeillant site

A must-see geosite in the Chablais Geopark, the Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs chapel offers a panoramic view. Lake Geneva, the Alps in the background and Mont Blanc visible on a clear day. Geopark panels explain the glacial origins of the site, the geological history of the Alps and the path of water, as well as the protection of the impluvium.

Green news

The 400-year-old lime tree in the hamlet of Château-vieux is a remarkable example of longevity, and a reminder of the need to preserve these centenarians.

A perfect village for mountain biking

Féternes is ideal for forest walks along ancient low walls, horse-riding lessons at the Ecuries de Gavot equestrian center in Féternes, or for exploring the commune by bike. One of the loops on the Pays d’Evian Vallée d’Abondance mountain bike trail takes you through the various hamlets of the commune.
