Discover La Dent d'Oche

The emblematic mountain of the Chablais region and the symbol of Bernex, let us introduce you to the Dent d’Oche.

Discovering Dent d'Oche

Perched at an altitude of 2222 meters, the Dent d’Oche is one of the most emblematic peaks in the Chablais region. Its history is closely linked to the village of Bernex, where the summit towers above it in all its magnificence.

To fully appreciate the Dent d’Oche, you can take a walk along the Pré-Richard, which offers a magnificent view of the summit!

And if you want to get closer, you can hike up to the Château d’Oche, which offers a 360° view of Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains (all the way to Mont Blanc!).

Warning – this summit is for experienced hikers only. Expect to find aerial and technical passages on the final section, as well as areas equipped with cables and chains.

As it is not part of the network of trails maintained and promoted by the CCPEVA, it is climbed at the hiker’s own risk.
Not recommended for families. Contact the guide office.

A mountain of secrets

As well as being one of the most emblematic peaks in the Chablais region, and a challenging hike (reserved for the most experienced hikers), the Dent d’Oche is full of secrets.

Its surroundings offer exceptional panoramic views of Switzerland and the Lake Geneva basin, while its mountain pastures are home to an impressive array of flora and fauna.

It’s not uncommon to spot herds of ibex perched on the rocky summits during hikes around the Dent d’Oche, or even during the ascent. But be careful not to disturb them, and avoid petting them.

La lac de la Case perfect for summer

Thanks to the Lac de la Case at the foot of the Château d’Oche and the Pelluaz ridge, the Dent d’Oche is a cool place to breathe during the summer heat.

Come and discover this charming little lake, frequented by marmots.

Towards other summits

An equally pleasant alternative

The Dent d’Oche hike is notoriously difficult and can even be dangerous.

However, if you’d like to enjoy the benefits of the Dent d’Oche with an accessible hike, we recommend the Château d’Oche hike.

A beautiful hike over 8km in length, with a positive vertical drop of around 963 m.
