The lake of two lakes
Lac de la Case is also known as “Lac Sud de la Case”. In fact, it has a twin, “Lac Nord de la Case”, some 30 m away, which is almost completely filled in by vegetation.
The southern lake is said to be fed by sublacustrine seepage. In the past, the two lakes formed a single lake that flowed down a valley towards the Chalets d’Oche.
It takes its name from an old chalet located along the path leading to the two lakes.
