Lac De La Case Lac de la Case is also known as “Lac Sud de la Case”. In fact, it has a twin, “Lac Nord de la Case”, some 30 m away, which is almost completely filled in by vegetation.
The southern lake is said to be fed by sublacustrine seepage. In the past, the two lakes formed a single lake that flowed down a valley towards the Chalets d’Oche.
It takes its name from an old chalet located along the path leading to the two lakes.

You’ll pass by the Chalet d’Oche and its mountain pasture, then reach the Lac de la Case, often visited by marmots. Keep quiet and listen carefully for the chance to spot one!
Continue on towards the Col de la Case, where you’ll enjoy a splendid panorama of Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva. Then cross the Darbon mountain pastures to reach Lac de Darbon, at an altitude of 1800m.
